Thank you for stopping by. ARE YOU READY to help me raise funds for Desert AIDS Walk?
About the AIDS Walk:
For 31 years, our beautiful desert community has been walking to show our community support in the fight against HIV/AIDS. Each year since 1987, when the historic first steps were taken, the Desert AIDS Walk, along with more than 2,000 community members have walked united to raise funds for the vital services provided by Desert AIDS Project (D.A.P.).
As an organization, D.A.P has committed to the bold goals set forth by UNAIDS to help end the HIV epidemic: 90% of people living with HIV will know their status, 90% of people living with HIV will be linked to care and receive sustained antiretroviral therapy and 90% of all these people will achieve viral suppression making them uninfectious. The spread of HIV ends.
A key component to ending this epidemic is research. Research studies of the aging community who are long term survivors of HIV/AIDS sound important, right? That is because it is. Until now, there hasn’t been a standalone non-profit in our desert community whose sole mission is to do studies and provide a setting for research of the effects of HIV on our aging friends.
This is where HIV + Aging Research Project (HARP-PS) steps in. A 501(c)(3) non-profit start up, HARP-PS is collaborating with research scientists on projects that are tailored and designed with men and women living with HIV/AIDS over the age of 50 in mind.
D.A.P. & HARP-PS Making a Difference:
Desert AIDS Project is helping make a difference. D.A.P. is truly invested in the success of community partners like HARP-PS. Not only will your donation support client services and programs at D.A.P., but half of your donation will go to the efforts of HARP-PS. That’s right, for ever $1 you donate right here to my page, $0.50 will help HARP-PS keep the lights on so we can continue to provide an organization dedicated to research projects designed to enhance the lives of long term HIV survivors.
How YOU Make a Difference:
With each step we take and each dollar we raise, D.A.P. can test more people, HARP-PS can study more people who are HIV positive, and TOGETHER we can be one step closer to an "AIDS free generation".
Now it’s up to you to help us achieve that. Please donate today. :-)
With Love and Appreciation,
Jeff Denean Jones
