2017 Desert AIDS Walk

100 Women

Saturday, October 21, 2017

Members of 100 Women contribute annually to meet the needs of women and children whose lives are affected by HIV or AIDS. They provide essential gynecological services for women, including pap smears and mammograms, ensure accessible healthcare for them and their children, and much more...

  • Purchasing school supplies and uniforms.
  • Providing gift cards for holiday meals and children’s presents.
  • Offering health and hygiene kits to female migrant farmworkers.

This “program with heart” also works with D.A.P.’s quilting and sewing groups – comprised of clients and volunteers alike – distributing the hundreds of handmade baby blankets and teddy bears they provide to children in need.

Another part of the 100 Women mission is to spread the word among women that HIV infection is not – and never has been – a concern just for gay men. Women of all ages continue to be at-risk and need to be educated about how to negotiate safer sex.

Every day, in a variety of ways, 100 Women is making a difference in the lives of women and children affected by HIV/AIDS...and the entire community!

With each step we take and each dollar we raise, we can test more people, bring more people who are HIV positive into care, and move one step closer to an "AIDS free generation".

Thank you.
