2017 Desert AIDS Walk

The Mizell Senior Center

Saturday, October 21, 2017

Mizell Senior Center has been serving the greater Palm Springs area for over 40 years. Mizell is the community focal point on healthy and active aging.  This is a place where Active Seniors come together for service and activity which enhances dignity, supports independence, and encourages involvement in and with the community.

The mission of the Mizell Senior Center is to enhance the lives and welfare of adults who live in or visit our community. Programs and services at Mizell Senior Center are designed to meet the needs of low income seniors and to provide opportunities to combat loneliness, isolation, and maintain active productive lives.  We have over 50,000 visits each year from individuals taking part in our activities and programs.

Specific programs include Coachella Valley-Wide Meals On Wheels, exercise and fall prevention programs, congregate meals on and off site, Fit Fifty, counseling, health checks, and a variety of social and recreational programs to increase socialization.

Mizell Senior Center is proud to be a Desert AIDS Walk Community Partner again this year as we share our common goal of serving those most vulnerable.  As a Community Partner, The Center will receive 50% of the net proceeds raised by our team!  These funds will go back to support our in-house programs!

The other 50% of our team's net will go to Desert AIDS Project to continue serving their 4,200, mostly low-income, clients with an unparalleled range of services.

With each step we take and each dollar we raise we can test more people, bring more people into care and move toward a world free of HIV/AIDS.

Please join our FUNdraising efforts today.
